NASA has released footage of astronauts Scott Kelly, Kjell Lindgren and Kimiya Yui of Japan tasting “Outredgeous” red romaine lettuce from the veggie plant growth system on the International Space Station.

This marks the first time astronauts have eaten fresh lettuce, or food cultivated in space for that matter.

The lettuce eaten by the astronauts was planted on July 8th as part of an ongoing initiative to grow crops in space as a sustainable source of food.
