Bluetooth Monitor Alerts Your Smartphone if Your Tire Pressure is Low

By: | November 18th, 2014

Regular tire pressure checks can improve fuel consumption and tire life. But most of us rely on the appearance of the tire to guess the tire pressure.

The days of guessing your vehicle’s tire pressure may be over

Fobo’s new Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) removes the guessing game and improves safety. You will be able to know the exact pressures in each tire before you start driving.

The Fobo Tire gauge makes use of Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to Android or iOS devices coupled with individual tire sensors that replace valve caps to constantly monitor tire pressure. It then provides the data to the user’s smartphone. This 24/7 monitoring system can provide real-time information within 30 meters (100 ft) radium.

Fobo is waterproof and it has been tested successfully in both extreme hot and cold environments

It comes with a 3-level alert system. You can hear the alarm over your smartphone if one of the tire pressures drop below an acceptable level. More aggressive alerts follow up if the air pressure level drops further.

The fundraising goal has been achieved through an Indiegogo campaign that offers a tire monitoring system including four sensors, the in-car unit and the free app for a pledge of $90. If all goes well, deliveries are expected to start  next month.
