The World’s Fastest Police Car Makes It Tempting to Break the Law

By: | June 19th, 2014

With its ability to accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 2.5 seconds, Avon and Somerset police officers are hoping the Ariel Atom will make people think twice before speeding. Getting pulled over by this slick police car makes it tempting to break the law, though. How many people can say the world’s fastest police car pulled them over?

For a better perspective on just how fast the Ariel Atom is, the vehicle is quicker than the Audi R8 driven by German police, the Ferrari FF used in Dubai and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia driven by Italian officers.

Roads Policing Sergeant Andy Parsons says, “I am really excited that Ariel has joined with us to bring Project SAFER RIDER to fruition, and I hope that the use of the Ariel PL1 with have a positive impact to promote Road Safety.”

Of course, speeding is dangerous and you shouldn’t do it. But think of the selfie you could tweet if one of these showed up in your rearview mirror:
