Watch a Flat Tire Fix Itself Thanks to a Self-Healing Rubber From Germany

By: | October 6th, 2015

Self-healing rubber has been successfully manufactured and tested by researchers in Germany, capable of healing itself after being pierced.

At the moment, we have self-healing films, concrete, metals, and protective films, so this is just one more advancement set to make the future of humanity more autonomous.

Gone are the days of getting your hands dirty and repairing your own flat tire. At least it’s certainly looking that way more and more each day.

Self-healing rubber could have a whole slew of applications if it proves to be reliable, even in factory settings when it comes to healing rubberized seals on industrial machines.

For a full explanation of the new self-healing rubber, reference the American Chemical Society.
