Need A New Printer? This One Requires ZERO Ink.

If you’re like the many who still enjoy having tangible photographs sitting around, ZINK Zero Ink printers might be the right tools for you.

ZINK offers two handheld size printers named ZINK hAppy and ZINK hAppy+ that connect wirelessly to your smart phone and can print out 2-3 inch color photographs, business cards, and coupons using absolutely no ink or toner cartridges.

The ZINK smart printers eliminate ink by using specified degrees of heat to project the image onto their custom-made ‘zRoll paper’ made up of millions of color crystals.

When heat is applied to the crystals, the colors will appear on the paper with the image that you sent to the device.

The printers don’t need to be connected to a power outlet to operate; instead they run off a lithium ion battery much like a cellphone, that can be charged up and taken with you wherever you go.

These handheld smart printers come with applications tailored to iPhone, Android, and Kindle devices that allow you to customize your photos with frames, filters, and fonts before printing.

The applications are designed with the capability of importing photos from social media sites like Facebook and Instagram to print directly to your device.

ZINK hAppy measures 4.5” x 4.5” x 3.75” and is priced at $199.99. The premium hAppy+ model is priced at $299.99 measures 3.9” x 7.7” x 3.75”.

These products set a precedent for the evolution of inkless printers, which has not seen many technological changes in the last decade aside from aesthetics.
