Fully-Functioning Electric Tron Light Cycle is Up for Auction!

By: | April 1st, 2015

From video games to movies, Tron light cycles captured many imaginations, and now you can also own one.

The sleek, electric-powered sci-fi vehicle is a replica of the one used in ‘Tron: Legacy’. It is one of the rare replicas created a short while after the movie was released.

The light cycle was custom built for the Andrews Collection. It is powered by a 96 volt direct-drive electric motor with lithium batteries. It has a very low seat height of 28.5 inches, making it easy to ride even at low speeds. But there are no details available around how fast you can expect the bike to go.

The bike has only been ridden around the Andrews facilities to ensure that it remains in functioning condition.

It is going up for auction at RM Sotheby’s on May 2nd in Dallas, Texas. The Andrews Collection plans to reduce its inventory to focus on a more manageable collection.

The light cycle is expected to sell at US$25,000 to $40,000.
