How Fast Can an Excavator Reduce a House to Rubble?

Demolishing a house can take anywhere from a day to several days.  The building is usually pulled down using large hydraulic equipment like an excavator. Wrecking balls are also used but these are less easily controlled and often less efficient than an excavator.

In this video, all of the demolition work has been carried out from the front yard. The machine arm is reaching up to the roof of the property while still having excellent stability to stand securely at the site.

The excavator tears apart wooden floors and sub-flooring during total demolition of a residential structure in just 40 seconds. Granted, the neighbor who captured the tear down sped up the video but it’s still exciting to watch this excavator turn this house to a pile of rubble in under a minute:
