Batmobile-Inspired Urban Companion Switches from 3-Wheeler to E-Scooter in Minutes!

Under the ownership of Hero MotoCorp, Surge has launched the S32 EV, marking a groundbreaking entry into the electric vehicle market. As the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India as well as one of the world’s leaders in the industry, Hero MotoCorp brings its expertise to this innovative venture.

A small truck to a passenger vehicle in minutes

Inspired by the transformative coolness of the Batmobile, this cutting-edge vehicle combines futuristic design with practicality. It seamlessly switches between being a three-wheeled electric rickshaw capable of carrying passengers or cargo and a sleek, high-performance electric scooter for solo journeys, in just 3 minutes.

A significant leap forward in urban transportation

With its ability to morph from a spacious three-wheeled rickshaw to a nimble electric scooter, the S32 EV offers unparalleled versatility as well as adaptability for navigating congested city streets.

The vehicle also features an Advanced Modular Scalable Electric Platform (AMSEP) and All Terrain Ichange System (ATIS) for adapting to different terrains. It comprises a 3.5 kWh battery, a 6 kW motor for the scooter module, and an 11 kWh battery with a 13 kW motor for the rear section in rickshaw mode.

In all rickshaw configurations, the S32 maintains a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph), while the scooter module can reach up to 60 km/h (37 mph) autonomously.

Potential Applications and Market:

It could prove particularly beneficial for self-employed individuals and entrepreneurs who demand dual-purpose transportation for both work and personal use. In regions like Asia and Africa, where two- and three-wheeled vehicles are common, the Surge S32 could see strong demand and enthusiastic reception.
