Artist Shunsaku Ishinabe has created a way to project a 3D map onto a grid, which literally flexes up or down depending on the precise terrain/landscape of a particular location.

The map is called “Polyscape” and it sinks down when displaying a valley for example and raises up when showing a mountain or plateau.

“Polyscape” certainly has some incredible effects and looks like something out of a video game, movie or even the future.
