National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges – Security

This is a three minute video on Security and how engineers are working to improve it! The National Academy of Engineering has created this video as part of it’s “Grand Challenges” initiative and includes the following topics:

  • satellites that support industry and military
  • improving communications systems for disaster and post disaster coordination
  • infrastructure critical to efficient and safe operation of society
  • evaluating risks and costs of improving infrastructure
  • predicting earthquakes
  • securing cyberspace now used by over 2 billion people
  • identity theft
  • creating better quality software
