The University of Oregon is the place Phil Knight calls home, creator of one of the most recognizable brands of all time in NIKE.

Now, students at the University of Oregon are getting to test their product design skills in thanks to the university’s Sports Product Design Master of Science Program, the only graduate course of its kind in the entire United States.

A few brands associated with the class are Columbia Sportswear Company, Gerber, Logitech, NIKE, and Wilsonart, who provide everything from guest reviewers to lecturers and even mentors for the course.

Students are encouraged to hone in on design for athletes, sports product marketing, branding, innovation methods, and product sustainability.

Ultimately, the goal is to strive to solve current issues that help prolong athletes’ careers or even generate new materials and technologies to make sports more safe and competitive.

Check out the videos below and theĀ curriculum of the course for more information.
