To help preserve the environment, transportation is adopting renewable energy alternatives. LINDO Smart is one such attempt to completely revolutionize the transportation industry.

LINDO Smart is a three-wheeled electric car developed by Melbourne-based Kyle Armstrong. The tiny Lindo Smart was created to tackle Melbourne’s traffic congestion problems.

Kyle Armstrong won the Core 77 design award for this smart electric ‘Tuk Tuk.’ The car is based on the Piaggio Vespa Ape three-wheeled vehicle.

LINDO Smart is fast, safe and efficient

Constructed of carbon fiber and titanium, the car is extremely lightweight. It is equipped with six ultra efficient lithium-ion batteries that are charged via a capacitor that takes just one-quarter of the time to charge as compared to conventional batteries. The batteries power the two in-wheel electric motors.

Smartphone app makes the smart car easier to use

LINDO users can download a smartphone app that will allow them to order a pickup service. The riders can pay for the service using PayPal or online banking, via an app or directly through the built-in payment system.
