A very crafty 17-year-old high school student from Lithuania has designed a realistic mechanical model of a wooden car.  He built this wooden car in 300 hours and over a time span of 6 months using $35 only on Reddit. Complete with its engine and powertrain, you will be amazed after seeing this car in motion.

Basically this wooden car is Physics project of this boy who is in 11th grade. The car has a wood-designed V8 engine and 3 manual gears that transfer power to the rear wheels.

Secret behind his achievement:

He has been woodworking ever since he was 4 years old. This is the secret behind this fine wood working model. He explained, he managed to do this project because of his “unfillable desire for understanding of how stuff works and making stuff”. His interest in watching a lot of Mythbusters and contemplating how stuff is made also helped.

In addition, his experience of working on bicycles also helped him. In games also his interest was to play with LEGO gears and other technical pieces.

He acknowledged that designing gearbox was not that easy.  He said,”Different design concepts for the gearbox have been on my mind for weeks. None of the components were all that difficult to build, because I spent a lot of time designing them right and in the end, it was just like following instructions. Regardless, the clutch was probably the hardest. A lot of fine-tuning and mess involving the hydraulics was involved.”
