Production still won’t begin until next year at the earliest, but the announcement appears to imply we will finally get to see the Tesla Model 3, the company’s first mass-market vehicle.
The Tesla Model 3 is extremely important for the future of the company, representing its first affordable option for most people at $35,000, versus the $100,00 the Model S and Model X are listed at.
It will be interesting to see how the market responds to an affordable, all-electric Tesla, and should give us insight as to where the company is headed as a whole.
