Supercar Maker Bugatti Cooks Up a Glass Toaster That Makes Steak and Shrimp

By: | April 17th, 2014

The toaster has lived up to its name since it was invented in Scotland in 1893. But get creative and try to cook vegetables or meat in your toaster and you’ll likely have a visit from your neighborhood fire department.

Until now, that is.

The Bugatti Noun Glass Toaster has taken the toaster industry to a new level with a unique look and different way of cooking. The sleek glass exterior isn’t just a pretty way to watch your toast turn golden brown. The Noun utilizes ceramic glass sides in order to conduct heat and cook all types of food.

That’s right. Now you’re not just limited to toast from your toaster. The Noun uses heat-resistant cooking bags to make everything from steak to shrimp.

The Noun will also include a smartphone app. You’ll be able to control the temperature directly from your phone.

Look for the toaster to hit Europe first, with plans to launch in the United States shortly after in 2015. The techie toaster will cost you, though. It’s rumored to run upwards of $1,000.
