Spray-Painting Drones Debut Masterpieces at the Art Fair

First, drones took over the music scene. Now, drones are ready to dabble in the art world.

With the help of incredible graffiti artist KATSU, the art of spray-painting drones will soon make their debut. KATSU’s art is usually made with his own hands but, this time, he turned to drones equipped with spray paints cans in order to produce a series of abstract paintings he calls Drone Paintings.

It took months of research and experiments for KATSU to determine the best way to use the drones, which he originally intended to program to write graffiti.

In the end, stabilization of the drones and the intense swirling of the propellers resulted in abstract painting from KATSU, who presented the paintings and a video of the process at the first Silicon Valley Contemporary art fair.
