Those looking for a dining experience with a difference might want to give the Villa Escudero’s Waterfall Restaurant in San Pablo City, Philippines, a try.

This colorfully-decorated waterfall restaurant is built at the base of a roaring waterfall which flows over the feet of diners as they enjoy the local cuisine at handmade bamboo tables. You can even get up from your seat as you wait for your order and lie against the rushing waterfall.

The restaurant is part of the Villa Escudero Resort. The entire villa is set on a historical plantation filled with coconut trees and surrounded by nature, thus enabling the visitors to enjoy the views of the stunning landscapes of the Philippines. The plantation is the site of the Philippine’s first hydroelectric dam from which the waterfall draws its water.

It also offers other activities like bamboo rafting, coconut harvesting and bird watching. You can even venture off to nearby rural villages on an ox-drawn jeepney.

Silence is out of the question due to the roar of the rushing water…making any conversation difficult. So if you’re after a quiet romantic dinner, go to a different place!
