Ogilvy Hong Kong/Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut is working on delivering more than just pizza to your door, at least in Hong Kong, where the pizza chain is delivering some pizzas in boxes capable of converting into movie projectors.

Designed by Ogilvy Hong Kong, a small pizza table inside the box serves as the projector’s lens.

Simply place your smartphone behind the lens, and boom! The pizza box will display your phone onto any wall or surface, working as a pseudo movie projector.

The box itself is named the “Blockbuster Box” and comes in four different designs, each featuring a separate movie download via a QR code.

For what it’s worth, the four films are called Slice Night (for horror fans), Anchovy Armageddon (for science-fiction), Hot & Ready (for romance), and Fully Loaded (for an action flick).

While I’m not sure how receptive customers will be, and I can pretty much guarantee the movies will not be in HD, it is an interesting marketing stunt that is definitely a neat idea.

Pizza Hut is thinking outside the box, if you know what I mean…
