OpenROV is essentially an open source GoPro robot for the water, which enables you to build a fully-functioning remotely-operated vehicle that can dive into any body of water and shoot video footage.
OpenROV is already being used to explore the ocean, namely shipwrecks, and there are tons of videos on YouTube you can check out at your leisure.
While OpenROV is being considered by many as a major advancement in underwater exploration and its future, other people have programmed the robot for much simpler tasks.
As you will see in the third video below, some marine biologists hacked the robot to bring them beer!
