The New Jaguar XF Sedan Just Drove Across the London Skyline on a High Wire, a World Record!

Jaguar Land Rover chose to forgo a normal car debut, instead opting to send the company’s new Jaguar XF luxury sedan cross a pair of 787 foot-long highwires over the waters of the Royal Docks in London’s Canary Wharf.

The scenery is beautiful with the London skyline in the background, and the carmaker actually set the world record for driving a car on a wire.

It was an ambitious debut for an ambitious car, set to rival BMW’s standard-bearing 5 Series, Mercedes’ stalwart E-Class, and Audi’s stunning A6.

Needless to say, competing with the great vehicles above would be an uphill battle for any car, even a gorgeous Jaguar sedan.

“The all-new Jaguar XF has a clear sense of calm and strength, both outside and inside – and I’m proud of my team for delivering that,” designer Ian Callum said.

Jaguar XF Sedan Features:

  • 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engines
  • 340 to 380 horsepower depending on the model
  • 75% of the car is made of aluminum
  • 10.2-inch touchscreen
  • InControl Touch Pro infotainment system
