Klein Vision Teases Our Flying Car Dreams with the Production-Ready AirCar

By: | May 23rd, 2025

Thirty years ago, most of us expected flying cars by 2025, but they are still nowhere to be seen. This could soon change, though. Slovakia-based Klein Vision has revealed the production prototype of its groundbreaking flying car — the AirCar — during the 2025 Living Legends of Aviation Gala in Beverly Hills. The sleek dual-mode vehicle, which can shift from car to aircraft in under two minutes, is poised to become the world’s first mass-produced flying car. And yes — it’s real.

Unveiled by AirCar’s inventor and designer, Stefan Klein, the prototype drew attention from aviation legends, astronauts, and Hollywood royalty alike. Hosted by John Travolta and Morgan Freeman, the event featured guests like Buzz Aldrin and Prince Harry, who joined a tribute to firefighting pilots. Klein received the Special Recognition Award for Engineering Excellence, honoring his 35-year journey from sketches to sky.

More than just a concept, the AirCar already holds a Certificate of Airworthiness. It’s flown over 170 hours, performed 500+ takeoffs and landings, and now packs a new 280-horsepower engine into its carbon-composite fuselage. In short: this isn’t sci-fi. It’s a flight-certified reality.

Klein described the moment as a personal milestone and a public shift. “The AirCar fulfills a lifelong dream to bring the freedom of flight into the hands of everyday people,” he said. “With the launch of our production prototype, we are one step closer to transforming how the world moves — merging the road and the sky into a new dimension of personal mobility.”

Reactions were swift. “The AirCar has landed,” said Top Gear’s star James May. “Very rarely am I lost for words, but I am lost for words!” Emmy-winning director Todd Douglas Miller added, “From the cockpit of another aircraft, I watched the AirCar in flight. Stefan Klein and Klein Vision have turned the impossible into reality, merging dreams and science fiction into something breathtakingly real.”

Beyond the headlines, there’s serious momentum. The AirCar’s production prototype is designed for commercial scalability, targeting a global air mobility market expected to hit $162 billion by 2034. Klein Vision’s co-founder Anton Zajac called the project “a fusion of certified aviation engineering and advanced automotive design,” built to meet rigorous standards in both domains.

This is no stunt. It’s a real shift in transport — one that could reshape how we think about travel, commutes, and even cities. Klein Vision isn’t just dreaming of flying cars. They’re building them. And they’ve already taken off. But they won’t stop there — the company is already working on an amphibious version, which should arrive in the coming years.
