Research suggests that crossing your legs can cause small, temporary changes in the body. For instance, some studies have shown a brief rise in blood pressure when one leg is placed over the other. This happens because the position can compress blood vessels, slightly altering blood flow. However, for most healthy individuals, this effect is short-lived and not considered dangerous.

Posture is another factor to consider. Sitting with crossed legs for extended periods may shift the alignment of the hips and spine. Over time, this uneven positioning could contribute to mild discomfort or lower back strain. That said, occasional leg crossing is unlikely to cause any lasting structural damage.
