In a landscape dominated by large electric trucks, emerging startups are honing in on a unique niche in the market. Ayro is gearing up to introduce its upcoming “Vanish” low-speed utility truck on a promotional tour across the Lone Star State.

The Ayro Vanish, a low-speed electric vehicle, has been meticulously crafted to fill the void between robust electric trucks and compact utility carts. Its versatile applications encompass corporate and medical campuses, hotels and resorts, food and merchandise outlets, university campuses, golf courses, stadiums and arenas, governments and municipalities, as well as urban delivery services.

This groundbreaking vehicle made its debut in February through a live-streamed event, followed by the opening of pre-order reservations in May. Currently, Ayro is diligently pursuing homologation in the United States, with the vehicle undergoing a Production Readiness Review process in recent weeks.

Let’s delve into its impressive specifications: The Vanish stretches out to 155 inches (393 cm) in length, with a height of approximately 76 inches (193 cm) and a width of around 60 inches (162 cm) when its side mirrors are folded in. Equipped with an axial-flux electric motor, it boasts a top speed of 25 mph (40 km/h), maintaining this velocity even on gradients as steep as 30% for a quarter mile. The lithium-ion battery provides a commendable range of over 50 miles (80.5 km) per charge.

The Vanish rides on Ayro’s exclusive 15-inch wheels outfitted with Schlagernull all-season tires. Thanks to its city-friendly turning radius of 12.5 feet (3.8 m), maneuvering through urban environments is a breeze. Additionally, all-wheel disc brakes ensure reliable stopping power, complemented by adjustable regenerative braking. The front features independent shocks, while a solid e-axle with shocks in the rear ensures a smooth journey.

This small electric utility truck boasts a remarkable payload capacity of 1,200 pounds (544 kg) for street-legal operation and has the ability to tow up to 1,150 pounds (~520 kg). It offers various swappable bed configurations, making it exceptionally adaptable – whether configured as a flat-bed truck, a pickup, or a delivery van with a food box.

Starting from August 2, Ayro embarks on a captivating “roadshow” tour of Texan cities. This tour offers partners, dealers, and customers the unique opportunity to experience the Vanish in person and get hands-on with it. The journey commences in San Antonio and concludes in Austin on August 24.

Tom Wittenschlaeger, CEO of Ayro, proudly stated, “Ayro’s design of the award-winning Vanish has been hailed for its functionality, creativity, and innovation, all without sacrificing sustainability. This roadshow is an opportunity for current and potential partners and select customers to meet our team, ask questions, and experience our cutting-edge design firsthand.”

Excitingly, the Ayro Vanish is now available for pre-order, with a US$250 refundable deposit securing your spot in line. The anticipated full price of this groundbreaking vehicle is set at $33,900. For more insights, check out the brief video below.
