GPS-Tracking Bullets Could Reduce the Danger of High-Speed Car Chases

By: | July 4th, 2014

Starchase is a cannon for police cars that fires GPS “bullets” at vehicles during car chases. Essentially, at the push of a button, the grill opens and the gun fires the GPS bullet at the car the police are going after.

From there, if successful, the officers no longer have to risk life and limb chasing the suspect because they know exactly where he or she is heading with GPS tracking.

The system costs $5,000 and each bullet $500, but many in law enforcement believe it is money well spent. Typically, the suspect will slow down or pull over somewhere after thinking he or she has lost the police.

Unbeknownst to the criminals, though, the officers will show up soon to make an arrest thanks to the GPS bullets.
