FDA Approves ReWalk Assistive Bionic Suit

By: | July 9th, 2014

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the ReWalk system for marketing, a major breakthrough for those suffering from spinal cord injuries.

ReWalk is a bionic suit that assists users with walking and standing, it’s basically a motorized exoskeleton that encourages people to get out of their wheelchairs and move around again.

While this is a monumental decision from the FDA, it is estimated the exoskeleton will cost roughly $70,000, a price that will hopefully come down in the future for more commercial use by the public.
