Crown Prince of Dubai Drops $800,000 on Amphibious Cars

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheik Hamdan Bin Mohammad Al-Maktoum, has ordered six awesome amphibious cars, worth $800,000.

These wonderfully created cars are named ‘Panther’. Panther is capable of handling rough seas as well as the city roads.

With a price tag of $135,000 this amphibious car is getting everyone’s attention. While many of us can only look at these amazing cars with wonder, there are rich folks like the Crown Prince who can actually afford them.

The Panther is a successive model of the Python. Both the cars are created by the Californian automaker WaterCar. Though Python could reach 60 mph on water, the price of $300,000 rather made it inaccessible to most buyers. In comparison, Panther is small, thus easier to maintain and about half the price of Python.

The Panther can achieve impressive speeds of more than 80 mph on land and up to 44 mph on water. Panther has a fiberglass hull, jet boat drive, retracting wheels, and a rear-mounted Honda 3.7-liter, VTEC V-6 engine. It can switch to jet drive within seconds. The huge hydraulic shocks lift the wheels up just by pulling a knob.
