By: | December 15th, 2015

Drones are becoming increasingly popular, resulting in more companies getting into drone technology, but how many are using them to do good in the world?

Chinese drone giant DJI is developing firefighting drones equipped with thermal imaging that can help emergency response teams in dangerous scenarios.

DJI teamed up with infrared tech company FLIR Systems to produce a thermal imaging camera for its line of Matrice and Inspire One drones, essentially creating firefighting drones.

From agricultural fires to building fires, the hope is that these drone can help spot victims or at least provide intel to humans working with the drones to control or fight the flames.

With over one million drones expected to be sold this holiday season alone, it’s great to see a company like DJI coming up with innovative drone technology capable of saving lives in the future.
