Supermoon Will Make You 14% Loonier

If you were offered anything: food, drink, shelter, car, bike, smart phone, or your salary, and it was going to be 14% bigger, I’m guessing you would immediately hop on board.

So with the latest Supermoon Mania taking over the Internet and airwaves, a few images of shots taken around the world are worth a look, if you haven’t seen enough already.

What is a Supermoon?

A Supermoon occurs when a full moon, traveling in its elliptical orbit around the earth is at the closest point in its approach to earth. As a result, it appears significantly bigger and brighter.

Some people have speculated that the Supermoon, which occurs every 14th full moon, affects the earth, increasing the likelihood of earthquakes and volcanic activity. However, this has not been established and remains speculative. Some have claimed the Fukushima disaster, triggered by an earthquake-induced tidal wave or tsunami, was the result of a Supermoon.
