Event organizers Fjuze and the Royal Dutch Air Force are working together in order to bring the world’s first ever drone circus to Amsterdam this year.

In the promo video below, the drone circus seems to draw inspiration from laser shows and Tron, a high sensory experience that if pulled off correctly, could probably rival or be incorporated into electronic music festivals.

Here is an excerpt from the event website:

In this high energy and explosive show, drones will take center stage to bring a collaboration and fusion of music, video, projections and special effects. AIR allows you to experience a variety of ballet and battles, races and lasers, circus, illusions and most of all magic from hundreds of drones.

It remains to be seen how AIR 2015 will turn out because live drone demonstrations/events haven’t really had a breakthrough yet.

Maybe AIR will turn the tide and create a stronger demand for events involving drones, still a growing and relatively untapped market as far as entertainment goes.
