Is This Windowless Plane the Future of Aviation?

By: | September 3rd, 2014

Plans for a windowless jet are in the works, which could reshape aviation as a whole if windows no longer line jet fuselages.

The proposed Ixion Windowless Jet from French agency Technicon Design displays panoramic views of what is going on around the passengers during flight.

If the passenger would rather not see what is going on outside the plane, they can request a movie or even video conferencing interfaces be displayed.

While there is currently no project in the works to build a windowless jet, it would make sense, because as Technicon Design points out, removing windows removes weight from the plane, therefore reducing fuel and production costs.
