Ah, exploding hoverboards.

They continue to go up in flames, and as a result, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission is in the process of a wide-ranging investigation, which apparently includes “a number of companies.”

In a recent update on the situation, the Commission shed some light on perhaps the biggest company involved in the scandal, Amazon.

Good news for Amazon hoverboard purchasers. Full refunds for everyone!

“For consumers who purchased a hoverboard from Amazon, they can return the product right now for a full refund,” Commission Chairman Elliot Kaye writes in the statement. “I want to commend Amazon for voluntarily stepping up, providing a free remedy and putting customer safety first.”

While Amazon is yet to issue its own statement, Kaye is telling customers to head over to Amazon’s contact page for more details on the refund.

We’ll have to wait and see how this all turns out.
