Can one card control them all? Coin says yes. Image courtesy Coin

Forget the stack of credit and debit cards that have been taking up all the space in your wallet. There is a new high-tech mega-card, or should we say “the real master card”, that works with your smartphone to combine all of your cards into one.

The card simply goes by the name of Coin and retains each one of your cards in its magnetic information, literally rewriting its own magnetic stripe each time you choose a different one of your cards to use.

Coin extracts your card information after you swipe each one through a little a dongle on your phone.  There is a button on the card itself that allows you to cycle through up to 8 different cards, a great way to save space in your wallet or even do away with it completely.

Coin has a built-in Bluetooth chip, which will alert you on your phone if your card is lost or stolen. Sounds great, right? The only problem is, because your phone and card will be continuously connected, Coin dies when your phone dies. If you remember to check your battery life, you should be fine as the Bluetooth connectivity can be turned off at any time.

Coin is set to be available for $100 in the summer of 2014. Check out the video below to see it in action:
