Stop-Motion Video From Canon Shows an $11,000 Camera Lens Disassembling Itself

Canon

The only way I’d spend $11,000 on a camera lens is if the thing cleaned the house and mowed the lawn for me.

But, I’m not a professional photographer and obviously there is a market for expensive cameras out there.

To reach that market, Canon put together a fascinating stop-motion video of the company’s EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM camera lens disassembling itself, in what makes for a cool marketing ad by showing all the internal bells and whistles of the lens.

There are a lot of complicated internal components that go into each and every camera lens, and thanks to Canon, we get to see each vital piece in all its glory.

Motors, gears, electronics, etc. Enjoy!
