These days, we expect a lot of performance from our phones and other portable devices. We want to be able to run an almost limitless number of apps. We want the speed and capacity to shoot full HD video. And so, the demand for speed and storage capacity just continues to grow. Western Digital’s new 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card is another milestone in the seemingly endless search for bigger and better.

Doubling the capacity of its 200GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card from two years ago, Western Digital now offers users an incredible 400GB of storage on a microSD card. That’s enough storage space to hold 40 hours of HD video.

The company claims the new card has a transfer speed of up to 100MB per second–that comes out to about 1200 photos per minute that you can pull from the card. And the card’s Class 10 speed rating allows you to shoot full HD video and high-quality photos.

The card is ideal for Android phone and tablet users and meets the A1 App Performance Class specification, which means that the card can load apps at optimal speeds.

The card will be available at SanDisk.com and at major retailers at a price of $249.99.
