HeLi-on, a Pocket-Sized Solar Charger, Uses Organic Solar Cells to Power Your Phone on the Go

Has your phone ever run out of juice when you needed it the most?

Well…never run out of power again!  You just need a little sunlight and HeLi-on!

HeLi-on is a new and convenient way to charge your phone. It’s a small, portable charger with a flexible but powerful solar panel.

Developed by Danish startup company infinityPV, HeLi-on is only 11 centimeters long and weighs 105 grams. You can easily carry it in your pocket.

HeLi-on uses polymer solar cells developed by infinityPV. The polymer solar cells are also referred to as organic photovoltaics (OPV). These third-generation solar cells are made with renewable, non-toxic materials and printed on a thin, flexible plastic film that can be rolled up when not in use.

The advanced flexible solar panel converts solar energy into electricity. The power can be stored in a built-in rechargeable battery to ensure uninterrupted power even on a cloudy day, or can be used to directly charge any device using an internal USB port.

HeLi-on has just launched on Kickstarter, with a price of $90 for one white HeLi-on with free international shipping.
