We’ve all been there, right?

You go to a music festival or concert with a group of your friends, and one of you inevitably gets separated from the rest of the group.

Cell phone signals are usually terrible, so you’re stuck searching for one person in a sea of people in a noisy place.

Pepsi is looking to help solve this issue by introducing an app-connected blimp that will guide you back to your friends should you get lost.

The half-blimp-half-drone, created by UK ad agency AMV BBDO, was recently deployed at London’s New Look Wireless Festival where attendees could download the app to test the Friend Finder blimp.

Essentially, pixelated arrows around the outside of the Friend Finder point you in the direction of your buddies until you’re reunited once again.

While yes, it’s a marketing ploy, it’s a great one in my opinion. I can’t even count how many times a GPRS powered blimp would have come in handy for me over the years.
