Microsoft wasted no time when it came to blowing people’s minds at the company’s October 2015 event in New York, showing off an incredible live HoloLens demonstration.

As you can see in the video below, a Microsoft employee wearing a headset went toe to toe with aliens crawling out of a cool looking spaceship in what the company is calling “mixed reality gaming.”

Project X-Ray, as it is referred to, shows a lot of promise, and, of course, has already taken the internet by storm with people drooling at the prospects of what gaming might become.

Essentially, the game allows you to defend any room in your house or apartment against an alien invasion, all completely wireless and no computer required.

As if that wouldn’t be cool enough, the freaking aliens come equipped with sensors that allow them to dodge your couch and dog during their invasion.

The user’s holographic weapon, which can morph into a myriad of other weapons, also moves with you as you play for what looks like a seamless gaming experience sure to provide hours of endless joy.
