Microsoft is reportedly working on creating its own SIM cards in an effort to enable Windows 10 devices the ability to access a myriad of different cellular data networks without the need for an actual contract.

Microsoft’s new app, Cellular Data, give users the ability to “connect with – and pay for – a mobile data plan on your Windows 10 device using only your Microsoft account information. That means no fixed contract and no long-term commitments to a mobile network operator.”

The interesting thing about the app is the fact that it was designed to “work solely with specific Windows 10 devices and requires a Microsoft SIM card.”

So, yeah… We’re waiting on those SIM cards in development before the app and its accompanying contract-less cellular data idea can take off.
