Mattro Unveils New Ardenner ATV to Outshine Ziesel Offroad

At Interalpin 2015 in Innsbruck, Austria, last week, Alois Bauer, founder of Mattro, introduced a new concept all terrain three track vehicle and snowmobile called the Ardenner Electric Offroader, pictured below. The name and design of the vehicle was inspired by the rugged farm horse by the same name.

Specs for the Ardenner include:

  • Peak power 50-80 kW, depending on battery system

A String of Versatile Products

Mattro has 25 years of experience in the transportation and transportation supplier markets, is a pioneer in the new field of e-mobility, has been developing industry-leading battery systems for more than a decade, and does all of its designing and engineering in-house.

The company also does a fair amount of prototype development and one-offs for larger companies and manufacturers of electric powertrains for tracked vehicles like the Bock, featured in the image below. The company also does small-scale manufacturing, regional production in Austria and works with European project management teams.

Following is a video of the $30,000 pioneering Ziesel Offroad vehicle, also known as the electric tank wheelchair, capable of cruising over rough terrain at up to 22 mph (35 kph).
