Leap Motion’s Incredible Motion-Tracking Controller Just Got Even Better…

By: | May 28th, 2014

Today, Leap Motion released its Version 2 (V2) motion-tracking software to developers in a public beta.

The new software release is an improvement upon an already impressive hardware from Leap Motion which utilizes infrared sensors to track hand, finger, and joint movements of a user.

Version 1 allowed for finger, hand, knuckle, and grabbing motions, but version 2 allows you to literally pick up and manipulate onscreen items via a series of natural gestures.

You will notice in the video below that the movements are translated very smoothly onscreen and appear very lifelike.

The V2 beta software from Leap Motion not only features more intricate motion-tracking capabilities, it is also less sensitive to ambient-light interference, a wonderful improvement from Version 1.

More good news… The V2 update is FREE if you have an existing unit!
