LAPD Officers Recruited to Test Military-Grade Electric Motorcycles

By: | July 17th, 2014

Police officers never want to give away their position to perps on missions, making loud motorcycles the last thing they want to be riding around on.

Luckily for LAPD officers, they get to be the guinea pigs in testing out a new stealth bike, the Zero MMX electric motorcycle.

The bike gives off zero emissions, so it is more than capable of chasing suspects both indoors and outdoors.

The new electric motorcycles feature lights, sirens, medical gear and hard storage containers, built specifically for special forces tasks.

Zero MMX Electric Features:

  • Go through water up to 3.2 feet deep
  • Up to 68 pound-feet of torque
  • Zero to 60 in 4.4 seconds
  • Top speed of 85 mph
  • Will run for two hours
