Jay Demerit, of US soccer men’s national team and Watford FC fame, is focusing on his life in design now that his professional sports career is over.

At the moment, Demerit is focused on his Rockit Log speaker creation, which is handcrafted from recovered acoustic quality woods.

The neat thing about utilizing wood abandoned by logging operations is the fact that every single speaker is unique, with its own pattern or grain, shape, and knot.

Demerit’s love for design doesn’t come out of the blue as he studied extensively to be an industrial product designer before becoming a professional soccer player.

Now, he’s showing off his vision for innovation in the form of his Rockit Log recycled speakers.

In addition, Demerit is utilizing his celebrity to enlist other famous athletes, musicians, etc. to design their own Rockit Logs which are available on the project’s Kickstarter page.

  • Bluetooth audio
  • Long-serving battery life
  • 60 watts of audio power
