Ecocapsule: A Portable, Wind & Solar Powered Micro-Home

Nice Architects from Bratislava, Slovakia has been re-thinking living spaces with its new green, portable, low-energy home. The company plans to unveil a prototype at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna, Austria this Thursday, May 28, 2015.

There’s No Place Like Home

Ecocapsules are designed for rainwater collection. They include a 28 ft.² (2.6 m²) rooftop solar panel and a 750 W wind turbine as well, as illustrated in the image below. Included is a kitchen and a bathroom with a composting toilet and shower. The living area is just 86 ft.² (8 m²), and the home is 14.6 feet long x 7.9 feet wide x 8.2 feet tall (4.5 m x 2.4 m x 2.5m). The Ecocapsule weighs in at 3,307 pounds (1500 kg). A price for the Ecocapsule hasn’t been decided yet and is expected to be announced in the fourth quarter of 2015.
