DARPA’s New EXACTO Rounds Can Compensate for Moving Targets and Hit Them Easily

By: | May 2nd, 2015

DARPA’s new EXACTO rounds, short for Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance, are literally smart bullets that will twist and turn in mid-air to eventually hit their target.

Essentially, the bullets are like guided missiles being shot from a rifle, an unfair advantage to the side that does not have access to the technology, to say the least.

Not only can the bullets hit stationary targets, which DARPA has already demonstrated, the new video below shows an EXACTO round compensating for the acceleration of a moving target in order to eventually hit it while in motion.

The new rounds are designed for professional snipers, who deal with high winds and dusty terrain that can sometimes throw off the accuracy of their shots.

The crazy thing is, the technology is so accurate that you really only need to pull the trigger to hit a target.

That’s a pretty scary thing to think about…
