Construction Begins Within One of Beijing’s Largest Public Parks

Construction has begun on MAD’s Chaoyang Park Plaza, an extension of Ma Yansong’s “Shan-Shui City” concept, which focuses on adding more nature to the urban environment.

As someone who has been to Beijing, I know firsthand how little greenery and nature in general is intertwined within the city.

MAD is attempting to take traditional Chinese paintings of natural formations and transform them into modern “city landscapes.”

The Chaoyang Park Plaza is located within one of Beijing’s largest public parks and central business districts.
