Burning Man is an annual week long cultural festival that originated in San Francisco’s Baker Beach in 1986 and was originally a bonfire ritual to celebrate the summer solstice.

The event expanded so much that founders moved it to the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada. Burning Man takes place the last Monday in August and ends the first Monday in September.

This year’s event is live streaming

Burning Man is attended by tens of thousands of people each year and as the photos show below it is an outpouring of creative energy. Enjoy the pictures and for more information visit BurningMan.org.
