43-Year-Old German Cyclist Jens Voigt Breaks World Hour Record…. Then Promptly Retires On Top!

Jens Voigt, a 43-year-old German cyclist just set a new world hour record, riding an amazing 51.115 kilometers in 60 minutes!

Voigt broke the previous record of 49.700 kilometers set by Ondrej Sosenka of the Czech Republic in 2005 by 1,415 meters.

Months of training paid off for Voigt who cruised at approximately 30 mph for the entire hour on his custom Trek bike around the track.

Upon breaking the record, Jens Voigt announced his retirement after an illustrious career.

Not a bad way to go out!
